In
1909, the Brooks Brothers of Manhattan were hired by M.J. Tully to build this
native limestone barn. It was used to house teams of horses that plowed the adjacent
fields. The structure is 40 feet X 60 feet, with 18 inch thick limestone walls.
The open loft area was used for loose hay and grain for the livestock. The interior
is built of rough cut oak and cottonwood. When we purchased the barn in July
1997, there was a new filly occupying one of the stalls. We have converted this
wonderful building to house our pottery studio and gallery.
Our well-stocked "stalls" will give the discriminating buyer a broad variety of items from which to choose. Studio and gallery open 10am - 7pm Saturdays or call ahead for an appointment (785) 539-0187.
Lessons, workshops, ceramic supplies, custom orders, glaze technology, kiln firing instructions are also available.
